Traveling to Japan can be an unique experience, but can also be overwhelming to plan with so much to consider. This workshop will go over all the details that will help you build your trip from the ground up. We'll discuss the basics of when to go and where to go, along with getting those solid reservation details in stone which makes your trip start to feel more official. We'll also share desired travel tips and advice. Questions are welcomed during the workshop, and note taking is encouraged. By the end of the workshop, we hope you'll feel confident in planning your trip to Japan.
About the Presenter:
This workshop will be lead by JSNO Vice President, Jennifer Torres. Jennifer's first experience in Japan was on a study abroad program in Kyoto back in 2010. After that, she continued traveling back to different places in Japan at different times of the year to gain better knowledge of Japan's travel seasons and its unique culture from one prefecture to another. With this gained knowledge, she started freelance writing for a Japan travel website and her own blog. In 2018, Jennifer took a position at the University of New Orleans as program leader for the Japan summer study abroad program. This position gave her the professional experience with all the aspects of what goes into planning a trip to Japan, such as budgeting and programming. Jennifer was given the opportunity to lead the 2024 Matsue Exchange in celebration of the 30th sister city anniversary for her travel experience. She continues to help those who need assistance in planning their Japan travels with independent consultation sessions.
