Nihongo Bin: Valentine's Day & White Day in Japan

  • Mon, February 20, 2017

  • Old Metairie Library

Valentine’s Day is known to be a day a person can confess their love. In western countries it is common for both genders to participate in this gift exchange, but it’s different in Japan. Valentine’s Day is dedicated to females exchanging gifts to males that they may like or are friends with. The favor is returned on White Day where males give back to females. These two holidays are not as simple as exchanging gifts to a potential love. Come find out how Japan celebrate these two holidays!

The presentation will be led by Jennifer Torres.
