Japan Club of New Orleans presents its annual Bon Odori (Bon Festival Dance Show) at the Lakeside Shopping Center on Sunday, August 21st from 2 pm to 3pm.

Bon Odori is one of the most famous and common dance in Japan. “Bon” in Japanese means welcoming ancestors’ souls and holding a memorial ritual for the souls. ” Odori” means dancing. Bon season is usually in August. Japanese people gather at the open space and dance together. The music should be happy music to welcome the ancestors’ souls.
