  • 19:00 - 20:00
  • Old Metairie Branch Library

Nihongo Bin is a program where we explore different aspects of the Japanese culture and lifestyle.

For the month of May we will be discussing the life of geisha, one of many famous icons of Japan. We'll briefly discuss their history, but will mainly focus on the geisha of today. It takes a lot of hard word and many sacrifices to become a geisha. And a geisha can't do everything on her own. There are many different people help transform her into a proper geisha. Come learn everything you need to know about the life of a geisha in Japan.

This program is free to attend and open to the public, so bring a friend! The presentation will be led by Jennifer Torres, Japan Society of New Orleans board member and blogger for Japan Therapy.
