Nihongo Bin: Anime vs. Reality

  • Mon, February 19, 2018
  • 19:00 - 20:00
  • Old Metairie Branch Library

Nihongo Bin is a program where we explore different aspects of the Japanese culture.

Anime (Japanese animation) is a popular medium to learn about Japanese culture, especially for the younger generation. As an art form, anime takes artist freedom with their stories which can lose its sense of reality to the Japanese culture. We'll be discussing the differences of how Japanese culture is represented through anime versus reality.

This program is open to the public and free to attend. The presentation will be led by Jennifer Torres, Japan Society of New Orleans board member and blogger for Japan Therapy.
